For many companies, procuring the right packaging, such as Poly Bags can be daunting. This is especially true of polythene bags.

They come in all shapes and sizes, just about any thickness imaginable, some are welded at the bottom, some at the side. Some are printed in various colours, some have no print at all. It may be boring, but someone must take the responsibility of buying these items, and whoever does it must get it right.

It is no good if you have a strict deadline to launch a new product and you can't get it into the bag. Did the product suddenly grow, or was the wrong size bag ordered. All eyes on the packaging buyer!

And what of larger items? Many companies use Pallet Covers and Pallet Shrouds that are made of polythene. How do you make sure that the supplier can provide these items on time, every time and at a reasonable cost?

The important thing is - get it right first time - oh and get it right every other time as well!

2. Meeting Your Meeting Expectations By Cynthia Kyriazis
"To get something done a meeting should consist of no more than three people, two of whom are absent." ~Author unknownOne of the complaints I hear most often is about the number of meetings people attend during any given week. It isn't only the quantity, but the duration and ineffectiveness that seem to cause problems. Conducting effective meetings is part of practicing effective time management and something we cover during my workshops, so I thought a recap of some meeting guidelines would b…

We have already seen outsourcing and offshoring used to an extent that nobody would have dreamed of a few years ago. McDonald’s is testing the offshoring of its drive-thru process to India. How about, “Do you want fries with that?” with a New Delhi accent?Even though McDonald’s testing of business process outsourcing (BPO) has caused quite a stir, it…

As a society we are achievement driven, recognized for our tangible contributions to the world. The examples of this are everywhere: At school we are praised for doing well at tests and reading to certain levels. At work we are rewarded for achieving specific objectives. On the sporting field our athletes are heralded for their victories. Public organisations are required to share their goals with the world. The penalties for failing to achieve them are collapsing share prices and reduced invest…
