To be honest, I sometimes ask myself that same question. So, I decided to sit down and figure out why I am prepared to give up days upon days of my time when others are out enjoying the weather or relaxing over a cup of coffee. And the only answer I could come up with was this – I love what I do. As simplistic as it sounds, this is the source of my energy and enthusiasm, despite many frustrating tasks and instances that I find myself dealing with. I realized that I am one of the lucky ones – able to combine work and pleasure. You see, for me, my internet business and my business in general is a passion. I have a burning desire to help others achieve success in their business, whether it is on the internet or off it. I especially have a desire to help charities realize the potential that can be gained from business on the Internet. I spend my time figuring out codes, writing articles and newsletters, preparing advertising, and so on, because I LOVE what I do. Recently out at dinner with friends, I was asked again about how I am able to work such long hours. I explained to them that when you have a passion about something, then you are no longer working. Having a passion and a drive for a task gives you the energy and ambition to complete it. Many people struggle to find this ambition, but I believe that the moment they unlock their passion and begin spending time with that passion on a daily basis, they will have more than enough energy and drive to get the job done. So, if you are struggling with your job, your business, or life in general, have a think about what you are passionate about. It might be helping others, understanding how computers work, writing articles or talking to customers. Whatever it is, embrace it. The moment you can spend your waking hours doing something you love, you will have all the enthusiasm you need to succeed. As another benefit, you are able to generate an income at the same time. What a life!

Having Your Phil By David Handler February 2nd, at approximately 7:30 a.m. local time on Gobbler’s Knob in a small town in western Pennsylvania, 20,000 people and a national radio and television audience anxiously await the prognostication of America’s favorite furry forecaster. Presenteeism: The Hidden Costs of Business By Daniel Sitter (prez.un.TEE.iz.um) nPresenteeism, a relatively unknown concept, is the complement of Absenteeism. It is defined as the measure of lost productivity cost due to employees actually showing up for work, but not being fully engaged and productive mainly because of personal health and life issue distractions. Currently, Presenteeism is estimated to be up to 7 ˝ times more costly to employers than absenteeism. (1)Statistically, Presenteeism rears its ugly head and shows itself for what it really is… 3. How Appetizing is Your Feedback? Recently, I was watching a rerun of the successful television show, The Cosby Show. The patriarch of this professional family (He is a doctor and his wife is a lawyer.) played by Bill Cosby, was just told by his college-bound daughter that the boyfriend she brought home to meet him was really her fiancé. He was disappointed with the news. Disappointed not in the young man or what he did (he was a “maintenance engineer”), but in the way he was told about this engagement.Mr. Cosby said that the w… 4. Taking on Six Sigma Programs - Guidelines for In-House and Outsourcing Decisions By Joong Hyun Based on a wild guess by a close associate of mine, there are well over 2,000 restaurants in the Manhattan area and its surrounding boroughs. Although I cannot validate the absolute accuracy of his count, I do trust it is in the ballpark, since he happens to be one of those guys who seem to know everything about everything in life (and more). His dream is to be on Jeopardy; if it ever happens, I already feel sorry for the other two contestants, who will undoubtedly be decimated on national TV.… |
